Terry’s Ideas & Answers

Explore how Terry solves tricky problems using clever thinking.

🌋 What would Terry do if a volcano threatened the valley?

When the volcano began to rumble, many of the dinosaurs panicked. Some wanted to run as fast as they could.

But Terry stopped and thought carefully. He studied the land and realised the lava would flow along the lowest paths.

Instead of running blindly, Terry guided the others to higher ground where they would be safe.

Terry’s lesson: The cleverest thing to do in a crisis is to stop, think, and choose the safest path.

🌊 Terry and the flooded river

After heavy rain, the river became too wide and dangerous to cross. The water rushed through the valley, carrying branches and logs quickly downstream.

Most of the dinosaurs thought crossing was impossible. But Terry watched carefully. He noticed that the logs floated instead of sinking.

That gave Terry an idea. He gathered strong logs and used tough roots, woven together like ropes, to tie them into a raft.

When the raft was ready, Terry climbed on carefully. He used one massive foot as a paddle and his long tail as a rudder, steering himself safely across the flooded river.

Terry’s lesson: Sometimes nature shows you the answer — you just have to stop, watch, and learn from it.

🪨 Terry and the giant boulder

After an earthquake shook the valley, a huge boulder rolled down the mountainside and blocked the main path. The dinosaurs pushed and pushed, but it would not move.

The boulder was much too heavy, even for Terry. But Terry knew that strength alone was not always the answer.

He found a strong tree trunk and used it as a fulcrum. Then he placed six massive tree trunks underneath the boulder as levers.

With his dinosaur friends pushing down together on the long trunks, the boulder slowly lifted and rolled away from the path.

Terry’s lesson: A clever idea, used in the right way, can make even the heaviest problem easier to move.
